Revenue Analyst

Purpose of the role

The role holder will be a commercial and results-oriented individual who has excellent analytical skills working in the Revenue Management team. This team is responsible for maximising revenue both for Owners and Sykes, working closely with the Market Pricing team, Marketing, Product, Property Recruitment and Operations teams as a true partner to optimise both owner engagement and customer bookings.


Essential Experience

=        Good numeracy and data interpretation skills

=        Delivery of numbers-based management reports

=        Understanding of factors affecting price levels

=        Strong Commercial awareness (ideally within the holiday lettings or travel and tourism industry)

=        Understanding of browser based IT systems

=        Strong Experience of using MS Office suite (Excel etc)

=        Data analysis and data interrogation experience

=        Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

=        Understanding of demand elasticity and revenue management

=        Making decisions based on data

=        Identifying opportunities and threats

=        Prioritising and Planning work load


Desirable Experience

=        Experience of working within the travel and tourism industry and/or property sectors (e.g. estate agency or residential lettings)

=        Experience of stakeholder partner management with proven results

=        Able to work in a target driven sales environment

=        Forecast sales and revenue targets

=        Process and procedure delivery

=        Pricing background

=        SQL experience


Core Accountabilities

This team will have a strong link to the Market Pricing team but also be required to work with Marketing, Product, Property Recruitment and Operations teams. You will be responsible for:

=        Use PRISM to make daily price changes to maximise revenue either through occupancy or rate

=        Forecast sales and revenue targets

=        Deliver daily, weekly and monthly revenue management reports

=        Support process and procedure delivery in revenue management

=        Engage and influence other areas of the business to drive revenue

=        Weekly team meetings providing insight into findings either regional or seasonal based

=        Locate and maximise on all possibly opportunities and minimise any risks

=        Driving innovation through new initiatives

=        Partnering a department/team within the business to maximise relationship opportunities

=        Owner of a specific key holiday departures week(s)

=        Integration of relevant acquisitions into daily processes including pre acquisition review


The post holder will be a constant role model for the Sykes values, and ensure they become a key part of the team ensuring all possible revenue opportunities are explored while keeping the owner’s best interests at the forefront.  The role includes identifying, sharing and spreading best practise throughout the business, and demonstrating excellent teamwork.


The Role

=        Maximising revenue by making daily price changes using PRISM – the Sykes in-house Revenue Management system.  Each team member is responsible for the revenue performance for a number of regions and must produce a SWOT for each region clearly able to understand and feedback on the challenges facing these regions and recommendations moving forward.

=        In addition to using PRISM there will always be the requirement to create extra reports whether for data analysis or reporting on performance.  It is a key requirement of the role to be able to analyse data and use it to make recommendations which will directly affect EBITDA.

=        Attending and contributing to the weekly Revenue Management Focus meeting to review performance and agree RM strategy for key periods in the year.  Attending bi-monthly team meetings and any other ad-hoc meetings.

=        Each team member is assigned a team or department to partner with in a Stakeholder capacity to maximize opportunities for mutual benefit e.g. bookings.

=        The team receives multiple queries on a daily basis from all areas of the business including acquisition brands and operates an SLA of 48 hours, the queries are delegated on a rota basis and the SLA must be met.

=        The team objectives can be achieved with slightly different approaches and these can change so the individual does need to be flexible, positive and open to change.

=        The team is heavily reliant on one-another particularly in holiday periods where colleagues must pick up the work of their fellow team members and approach this in the same way as their own work. 

=        To be involved in the integration of relevant acquisitions at an early stage as well as moving onto PRISM system and into a daily process of price reviews.


Colleagues in the department may have access to material which is confidential or commercially sensitive in some way. It is a condition of their contract of employment that they use great discretion at all times and ensure that no confidential material is leaked from the department to unauthorized members of staff, customers or owners. Should confidentiality be breach this may lead to formal action being taken
