UX Designer

Due to expansion, our Product team are looking for a UX Designer to join their multi-skilled and close-knit team.

The Product team are responsible for our Sykes website across multiple channels - optimising them to ensure a smooth booking journey and the best browsing experience possible in order to maximise conversion of browsing sessions to bookings/ enquiries and ultimately help the business to grow.

This role will join us at an exciting time as the business makes a strategic focus on improving the customer web experience. The Product team will be pivotal in delivering these changes to fulfil the goal of the programme.

The UX designer will apply their design skills to create aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly web design - quickly implementing ideas and suggestions as part of a fast-moving programme of change designed to increase conversion - on both project work and regular, incremental updates to the website design.

The designer will communicate effectively with colleagues to clarify the brand and aesthetic requirements for design, as well as understanding technical impediments in order to deliver the design changes.

About You

You will have proven experience of successfully designing aesthetically-appealing e-commerce sites in a commercial environment and have a strong understanding of interaction design. You will have strong Sketch and Photoshop skills, as well as HLTM5 and CSS3.

You will have a commercial approach to design, and be able to demonstrate the tangible benefit of any design changes made. You will be comfortable working with Agile methodologies in a collaborative team environment.

You will be an effective team player who takes a user-centred approach to design - anticipating customer needs and behaviours. You will be willing to take a data-driven approach to decision making (rather than subjective opinion), and prepared to suggest and implement new, innovative ideas. You will be able to challenge ideas constructively and work well in a results-focussed team.

Experience of working on large-scale e-commerce sites and using A/B testing methodologies would be very welcome, but aren't essential.
